Biogas Fertilizer

New Fertilizer

Has anyone seen the product coming from the Bio-digester it looks very black like it was burnt with analysis of 5-4-2 .It will be made at the new Stormfisher biogas plant being built in London We need to see some field trials with the product

  1. The digestate from biogas systems is very amenable for liquid-solid separation. The digestion process breaks down much of the solids. The liquid-solids are separated with a screw press, screen press, or other.
The material coming out looks much like horticultural potting material. Several farms in Ontario with biogas systems have installed them. The dairy farms use the solid fiber materials for bedding.
The solids do not look "burnt" rather looks like peat moss.
StormFisher was bought by a GE subsidiary which went bankrupt. So SF no longer exists and the London project is not proceeding.

  2. Unlike chemical fertilizers, biogas-slurry is organic and does not have negative environmental effects. The best part is, you can make it yourself.
